Fred Baus aka SpudBencer is an electronic musician and DJ from Luxembourg. Exponent of the new Italo/Danish music label Telavivi Records, born in 2021 with the collaboration of artists like Rome in Reverse, Blue Collar, INTOTHEVOID, Novelty. SpudBencer became involved in the local scene in early 2000 and has been leading several projects (Grand Duchy Grooves, d:qliq & Songs For Ben) to push forward the local music scene. He started producing electronic sound collages in 1996 as 'project m' before producing bass-driven music under his 'in circles' moniker. In 2013 his track 'sleep less' was used in a Calvin Klein in-store campaign. Fred shared stages with artists like The Field, Vitalic, Digitalism, 2many DJs, Benjamin Damage, Compuphonic, KXP... and played festivals in France, India, Japan & China. After a hiatus of nearly 5 years, Fred is back as SpudBencer, exploring a more minimal, repetitive sound to take the listeners on a trip. His music is dark at times but can be melodic and bittersweet at other moments. His music is influenced by Plastikman and the minimal techno approach of M_inus and the Scandinavian label Hypnus but explores a more ambient route. SpudBencer likes deep and repetitive music. SpudBencer can make you trip or dance. SpudBencer is not hip.
