Description
Laura Thorn was born on January 18th, 2000, in Luxembourg, and holds
Luxembourgish nationality. Her mother tongues are French and Luxembourgish, and
she is also fluent in English and German. From a young age, Laura discovered her
passion for music and dance. At the age of five, she began attending a dance school,
where she studied classical dance and modern jazz until she was 19. During this time,
she participated in numerous dance competitions organized by CND France &
Luxembourg. At the age of eight, she entered the music conservatory in
Esch-sur-Alzette, starting with music theory (solfeggio) and then progressing to
instrumental training in both piano and cello. She continued her studies in various
disciplines, including chamber music, keyboard and string sight-reading, choir
conducting, harmony, and counterpoint, completing her studies at the conservatory in
2023. Over the years, she received several first prizes in solfeggio, piano, keyboard
sight-reading, harmony, and counterpoint. After earning her high school diploma with a
focus on music, Laura enrolled in IMEP, a higher music school in Namur, Belgium, to
pursue a Master's degree in Music Theory (Solfeggio) and Pedagogy, which she
completed successfully last year. Having always had a passion for singing but lacking
vocal technique, she joined the newly established "pop" singing section at the school.
She completed her Master's in "pop" singing in 2024. In addition to her studies, Laura
has performed in many concerts as a solo singer and as part of the choir "Almakalia,"
which participated in the Eurovision Choir 2019. After finishing her academic journey,
she began teaching singing and music theory at the Conservatory of Esch-sur-Alzette in
Luxembourg in September 2024. Alongside her teaching career, Laura participated in
the Luxembourg Song Contest 2025, where she won. As a result, she will represent
Luxembourg at the upcoming Eurovision Song Contest in Basel.
